Curb Your Carb Intake | The Dirty Truth About Carbohydrates

Carbs are the Enemy, eating carbs will make you fat, you can lose weight by cutting your carbs or eliminating carbs from your diet all together. We have heard or read all the stories from TV, tabloid magazines, etc. etc. Even one of the most popular Atkins diet, promotes a low carbohydrate, high protein, high fat approach to weight loss. So what should you believe? The best solution is to Curb Your Carb Intake.

I have seen many people do the Atkins diet. The one thing I have found in common with every individual is that they were looking for a quick solution to their weight loss problem. The individuals who decided to go on a low or no carb diet could not maintain that diet for very long. After the first week everything seems hunky dory. They may something like “I really don’t miss the carbs, I really like meat and I can do this.” After about the third week you will hear something like “I’m tired of salad” or I’ve heard “It is really difficult to just eat protein.” And after about mon
1000
th and half they have lost some weight and maybe even significantly perhaps 20 pound or more. So what happens next?

They give themselves a pat on the back and decide they tortured themselves enough and they stop the diet. In a few months they are back to square one, right! They started eating French fries, soda, candy bars, and potato chips and gain most of their weight back. So they start the diet again. This called a YO-YO dieter.

Carbs are very important for your body to have. Carbohydrates provide your body and muscles with a necessary energy source. Your brain functions primarily on carbohydrates. If you eliminate carbs from your diet you will become tired more quickly. You will barely have enough energy to do your daily chores much less make it to the gym to workout.

So what to do?

“Everything in moderation” this is a key phrase I want you to remember. Carbs, protein, fat, and even alcohol are OK in moderation. You need to have carbohydrates in your diet.

So what carbs should you eat?

I think you probably know already but are afraid to admit it! Potatoes, rice, whole wheat or whole grain breads are very good for you as they provide more complex carbohydrates that your body will digest over time, kind of like a time release of carbohydrates giving you more stable blood sugar levels. This will allow your body to burn most of the sugars as they are being provided to the body. But this is done in moderation. You CAN have too much of good thing

Try to avoid sugars, You Know What I’m Talking About! Candy the number one culprit, regular soda drinks is probably number 2. These items will give your body a rapid spike of blood sugar levels. The body can not use all of these carbs at one time unless you are performing a strenuous activity. So your body will use what it can and store the rest as FAT.

If you need to munch on something sweet grab some fruit, I personally love grapes. They keep me away from the candy. Switch to diet soda, Coke Zero is really good and I can’t tell the difference between that and regular Coke. Next, keep the sweets out of your house. If you make a conscious effort not to buy these bad items you will have taken out the temptation at home to grab some out of habit or boredom.

I could write a book about all the benefits and negative effects on carbohydrate and there are many books on the topic. But the idea is to Curb Your Carb Intake not eliminate it. You can do it. Become an informed dieter and you will be able to easily lose the pound and keep them off.

DID YOU KNOW THAT: A study of 19,000 Americans found breakfast skippers are more likely to gain weight because they are more inclined to overcompensate for the loss of key nutrients at breakfast by eating more fat-rich, high-energy foods later in the day.

How To Read Nutrition Labels: Eat Smart With These 6 Pointers

If you are like most people then you probably glance at the Nutrition Facts label on foods once in a while. Maybe you check for the number of calories or fat grams that an item contains, or maybe you are watching something specific – like your sodium intake. Whatever the case, it has been proven that those who pay attention to the Nutrition Facts label end up eating healthier.

The more familiar you are with the Nutritional Facts label, the more likely you will be fit and healthy.

< 1000
!-- AD END -->
Each Nutritional Facts label has been designed to quickly and efficiently give you all of the important facts about a food item. You just need to know what you are looking for. Read on as we break down the Nutritional Facts label into 6 important facts.

Fact #1: Serving Size
This small detail skews the entire label if you don’t read it closely. An item may seem like it is only one serving, but the Nutritional Facts label will consider it to be 2 or 3 servings. If the label says 100 calories, but there are actually 3 servings, then you are getting a total of 300 calories. Pay close attention to what makes a serving.

Fact #2: Calories
Most people don’t have the time to count every calorie that they put in their mouth – this is understandable. However, you probably have a pretty good idea about the amount of food that you eat each day. When you approach a new item, read the calorie totals on the Nutritional Facts label, and factor the new calories into your daily intake. Steer clear of high calorie items – especially in the form of snack foods.

Fact #3: Fat
By now you have undoubtedly heard that all fats were not created equal. Here is a quick 1-2-3 breakdown.

1. Limit your intake of Saturated Fats – this deadly fat contributes to heart disease.

2. Avoid Trans Fats at all costs – not only does it contribute to heart disease, it also raises LDL cholesterol (the bad one).

3. Focus on eating monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats – these don’t raise LDL cholesterol and can even help lower blood cholesterol.

As you decide what food to include in your diet, keep your eye on the type and amount of fat included in each item. Remember, all fats were not created equal.

Fact #4: Carbohydrate
Though zero carb diets are losing their momentum, you may have been influenced by the idea that all carbohydrates will make you fat. That is simply not true. It is true, however that some carbohydrates are healthier than others. In fact, medical experts think that excess consumption of refined carbohydrates (such as soda pop, white rice, and white flour) are one of the reasons behind the rise of obesity we see today.

Choose fibrous, complex carbohydrates over sugary, simple carbohydrates.

Fact #5: Protein
The fact stands that most of us are getting plenty of protein in our diet. The problem arises when we examine the source of this protein. Meats and dairy products that are high full of fat may be filled with protein, but they aren’t the healthiest form of protein. Choose protein from lean meats, dry beans, poultry, and low fat/fat free dairy products.

Fact #6: The Good Stuff
Directly beneath the protein count on the Nutritional Facts label you will see the percent daily value of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron that the food item contains. These numbers are easily overlooked, but hold great importance to your overall health. The more nutrient-rich food items provide you with the greatest benefit per calorie. Compare food brands and choose the most nutrient-rich option.

Which would be healthier, a high fat virtually zero carb diet or a high protein, no fat diet? History gives us a chance to compare these two diets, and the results, to be honest, surprised me a little.

“There’s gold in them thar hills!” The California gold rush was on and it seems like everyone who could beg, borrow or steal a mule and a shovel headed for the Sierra Nevada mountains in search of their fortune. The old prospectors were panning for gold in nearly every mountain stream they could find. They were, in a sense, modern day cavemen living off of the land

But, these guys were in no way cavemen. Most of them weren’t even experienced outdoors men. They were just ordinary city folks with a dream. And, to be honest, it’s kind of a cool dream. I could see myself panning for gold in the river all day and sitting by the campfire playing my harmonica to my mule at night.

Food was plentiful. There were rabbits everywhere. Just keep your shotgun within arms reach while you panned for gold and shoot the occasional rabbit as it hopped by. With a little luck, by the end of the day you had a rabbit and a little gold. Can it get any better?

Well, yes, it could be a little better. While tasty, rabbits really don’t have any fat. The prospectors starting getting sick and some of them actually starved to death. They died from what came to be known as “rabbit starvation”. A high protein, very low fat diet turned out to be lethal.

While all of this was going on, at the other end of the planet lived another group of “cavemen”, the Inuit. (Apparently they don’t like to be called Eskimos anymore) These folks lived on a diet of about 70% to 80% fat and virtually zero carbs… and still do to this day.

They are healthy and have survived for thousands of years in undoubtedly the harshest environment possible. Their diet consists mostly of fat and protein. In a land where the ground never completely thaws and it is dark for half of the year, there isn’t going to be much in the way of carb material. Yet, these people thrive.

So, is there a conclusion we can draw from this? Yes, of course there is! If you are planning on being a gold prospector and living on rabbits, be sure to bring a supply of whale blubber along with you.

I’m just a Caveman and like to throw some of these ideas out for you to think about.

It’s always great to find a protein supplement with very low carbohydrate amounts, but it’s even better when there are none at all. VPX Zero Carb Protein is perfect, it’s got no fat, no carbs, and tons of protein.

That means you can supplement more for less. Many supplements are totally out of the question for me as a WLS patient, because they contain HUGE amounts of calories, fat, & carbs! I realize those particular products are meant for those looking to gain muscle weight, and eating a 300-400 calorie bar or just as high calorie shake is appropriate.

I suppose if I ever got to a point where I needed to maintain my weight and was having a hard time, I would initiate the use of those big calorically inclined bars and shakes. For now, while I try to shake off the last of the weight, I’ll stick to low-zero carb supplements that do not negatively impact my diet.

I bought a canister of VPX Zero Carb Protein for $47.95. Save yer pennies.

About the protein, from the manufacturer:

The most consistent and effective way to lose weight and unwanted bodyfat is by consuming a high protein/low carbohydrate diet (with moderate dietary fat intake).

This is primarily due to the fact that protein has a spectacular three-phase assault on bodyfat:

1) protein causes the body to release a hormone that frees up stored body fat to be used as energy called glucagon, 2) protein builds muscle tissue and fat is burned inside of the muscle cell; consequently, more muscle equals greater fat burning capacity, and 3) to digest protein, the body has to expend a great deal of heat; this process is called the “thermic effect” of protein and results in the body burning additional calories even at rest.

While it is true that one of the keys to losing weight is to expend more calories than we consume, the most important secret for long term fat and weight loss is to control the hormone insulin. Insulin release is consistent with the amount and/or type of carbohydrates we consume. This hormone also causes our body to store fat and furthermore, can also prevent stored bodyfat from being utilized as energy. Additionally, insulin will cause unwanted weight gain and water retention. However, if we control insulin with a low carbohydrate diet, we can also control our weight and levels of bodyfat.

Isopure zero carb protein is a revolutionary new type of RTD (ready to drink) protein supplement made by the Isopure Company. This protein uses an ion exchange filtration process which removes many impurities found in other proteins and leaves you with a protein drink which is “pure” as the name implies.

This new protein drink is both tasty and affordable. It comes in a slew of different flavors from chocolate to vanilla to mango and best of an amazing profile: zero carbs, lactose free, aspartame free, and fat free! It can be very difficult to find a good tasting protein drink which is easy to mix and also lactose free. Many previous proteins used a filtration process which left remnants of the milky state in the protein which would cause gas and bloating in certain users. This is no longer a problem with Isopure zero carb protein.

Isopure only uses whey protein isolate and not any type of whey protein concentrate or other whey hydrolysates so you always know exactly what you’re getting: the purest form of protein. For reference, whey concentrate is only 29-89% protein by weight whereas isolate is 90%+. Hydrolysates are a decent second option but many dislike it for its bitter taste.

The isopure protein drink is also packed chock full of essential nutrients and BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) which makes it a great source for post workout nutrition. Any bodybuilder worth their salt will tell you that most muscle gains aren’t made in the gym, they are made in the diet and more importantly the post workout diet. This type of protein is quick to mix, and goes down smooth for a perfect bring it and drink it protein drink. Slam it down in the anabolic window and enjoy your new freaky muscle gains!

New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS) Kota boy Bharat Sharma, a regular at fashion weeks, says there isn’t enough work for male models in India and that the young faces who want to make it big in the glamour business have to deal with favouritism and compromising situations.

‘Yes, compromise is the major issue which male models face and is the short cut to start and get a few assignments. But it doesn’t help in the long run until you make and maintain that relationship. I never opted for the short cut and prefer working neatly,’ Bharat said when asked if it was true that partiality and compromise are part of the glamour business.

‘Work for guys is less and nowadays everyone wants to try their luck in the (fashion) industry. Since everyone wants to try their luck, they face favouritism and compromising situations,’ the 27-year-old Bharat told IANS in an email interview.

He started his career with the Gladrags mega model contest in 2007 and won the Mr. Pune title in the same year. Apart from this, he has been a regular at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and the Lakme Fashion Week.

Another concern for male models is payment. Asked if they are sufficiently compensated for their work, Bharat said: ‘No, not really, but, yes, there are a few exceptions and it depends on the way you work.’

Given an opportunity, would he prefer to work in India or abroad?

‘Abroad… as I want to compare both the sides and zero in on which side is more beneficial. The work culture in India is quite disorganised and disappointing,’ Bharat said.

At the same time, he felt that the Indian fashion industry has a bright future and that menswear is evolving.

‘Indian menswear has seen enormous growth since the fashion bodies started realising its value…it is no more only a trouser or a T-shirt for guys in India, it’s much more now.’

Bharat has walked the ramp for almost all the big names – from Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Rajesh Pratap Singh to Manish Malhotra, Wendell Rodricks, JJ Valaya, Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Vikram Phadnis.

Asked about his favourite designer, he said: ‘To be true, I am not a diehard fashion fan, but, yes, the designers I always prefer working with are Hemant Trevedi, Wendell Rodricks, Narender Kumar Ahemad and JJ Valaya. Among the fresh talent, I like Sanjay Hingu’s work.’

For a model, both the right look and the right attitude are the success mantras, he says.

‘Both are equally important for a model – the right look gives the first impression and the rest is in the attitude,’ he said.

Bharat said his dark skin tone didn’t create any hindrance in his growth, but added: ‘In India it works, but nowadays Indian ad filmmakers and even the clients are showing their inclination towards white-skin models; so more Brazilians are coming to the country for work.’

Born and brought up in Rajasthan, Bharat, who belongs to a middle-class business family, suggests that wannabe models give importance to education.

‘Guys, get some education and brains as it is a common notion that models are dumb and they just have good looks. So we need to break that conception and create a benchmark for ourselves,’ said the model who did his schooling from Saint Paul’s School, Kota, junior college from Symboisis, Pune, and MBA from Pune University.

He has been a part of Channel V’s ‘Get Gorgeous’ season six and says he won’t mind trying his luck in Bollywood.

‘Currently I am working on my acting skills and I want to get into the Hindi film industry,’ said the model who does 15-minutes of power yoga every morning. This apart, he does three days of endurance training, weight training on alternate days and consumes low carb and high protein food to maintain his body and looks.

Are proteins necessary to build muscle?

The answer is… absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt. Protein releases many powerful muscle building and fat burning hormones. At the same time it builds and repairs muscle tissue. So, if you consume high quality lean proteins they will help you maintain a lean muscular physique.

What is so great about VPX zero carb protein?

This excellent product has an incredible effect on the body as it contains whey protein ISOLATE which is not any normal protein. Many other protein supplements contain protein concentrate but because of the isolate in VPX there is 34% higher Biological Value (BV) compared to other whey protein concentrates. BV is a number representative of how much of a specific protein your body can retain (nitrogen retention) and utilize for functions such as, hormone production, muscle growth, release of stored body fat (through glucagon) to use and burn as energy, etc… The higher the Biological Value the protein is, the greater its capacity is to complete these functions.

How can VPX zero carb protein transform you?

1. If you want to build your muscle tissues fast without feeling tired and discouraged this is excellent for you.

2. Researchers have made a balanced combination of overall amino acid which will actually enhance your bodybuilding workout performance.

3. As far as your immune system is concerned, you will be able to increase your body’s defences against sickness and diseases.

The Building Blocks Of Your Ideal Marathon Training Diet

Marathon Training Diet

Nutrition is frequently an overlooked component of marathon training. The right nutrition plan will make those long training runs seem much easier!

This article describes your day in and day out marathon training diet. Additional detailed topics such as race week nutrition, race day nutrition, what to eat just prior to training, what to eat immediately after training and what to eat pre-race are covered in these sport specific fueling pieces.

Your energy comes from the food you eat. All food is composed of carbohydrates, proteins, fat and fiber. Carbohydrates are tied to energy pr
1000
oduction, complete proteins are tied to tissue repair and building, fat providessupplies body fuel and fiber is roughage. Most foods will contain trace amounts of all these macronutrients, but each is normally rich in one. ALL are needed in your diet.

Carbohydrates for Marathon Training
Your body burns carbohydrates more efficiently than fat or protein. Think about increasing your carbohydrate intake to 60-70% of your daily food intake.

Runners gain the most from the amount of carbohydrates stored in the body. Carbohydrates generate more energy per unit of oxygen consumed than fats. What this means is that you get more energy for running when your body burns carbohydrates than you do while your body burns fat or protein. Since oxygen frequently is the restrictive factor in sustained duration events, your body will find it easier to use the energy source that requires the smallest amount of per kilocalorie of energy produced. (energy is calculated in kilocalories)

Your body generates energy by converting carbohydrates into glucose. When you are exercising at a average effort, carbohydrates supply 40 to 50 percent of your energy requirement. As you start running harder, carbohydrates give a bigger proportion of your energy requirements. It is difficult for your body to break down protein and fat into glucose to provide energy. Consequently your body first burns carbohydrates. The harder you work, the harder it becomes for your body to dedicate energy for breaking down protein and fat. That energy might be used to propel you forward in the race.

Best sources of carbohydrates for your marathon training

Carbohydrate requirements are usually based on the runner’s body mass and activity level. Runners engaged in moderate-duration, low-intensity exercise require 5-7 grams of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight. By contrast, those participating in long-duration and high-intensity events need 7-12 grams of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight.

All carbohydrates are not created equal.

Best sources of carbohydrates in your diet

* Fruit,
* vegetables,
* brown rice,
* enriched whole-grain breads,
* whole grain cereals,
* rolled oats,
* beans,
* legumes, and
* sweet potatoes

(Note: Cheetos, cookies and tortilla chips are not on the list.)

Fat Needed in Your Marathon Diet

The next macro-nutrient required by the body during exercise is fat.

Fat is not the enemy. Fat created from an excess of cheetos is. (Remember that excess of any macro-nutrient – carbs, protein, fat – is turned into fat.) For moderate exercise, around half of the total energy expenditure is derived from free fatty acid metabolism. If the event lasts further than an hour, the body may utilize mostly fats for energy. Whether or not fat is used as fuel depends on the event’s length and the runner’s condition. Athletes in good condition use fat for energy more quickly than athletes in lesser condition. The long marathon training run helps athletes adapt to burning fat.

Best supplies of fat in your diet

* Nuts
* Seeds
* Nut butter
* Fatty fish
* Fish-oil supplements
* Flaxseed oil
* Safflower oil
* Canola oil
* Sunflower oil
* Corn oil
* Avocados
* Egg yolks

Protein
After carbohydrates and fats, protein provides energy for the body. You also require protein to repair muscle tissue that is damaged during exercise. While exercise may increase an athlete’s need for protein, {most|the majority of|for the most part|on the whole, Americans tend to eat more than the recommended amounts of protein.

A protein intake of 10 to 12 percent of total calories is sufficient. Most authorities recommend endurance athletes eat between 1.2-1.4 grams protein per kg of body weight for every day. Keep in mind, further protein is stored as fat.

1000
It’s doubtful you will need extra protein, what is probable is that you need to be more mindful of where you get your protein.

Women attempting to lose weight by cutting calories regularly forego healthy protein sources for bagels. Don’t get me started on my “bagels are empty calories” rant; for now, all I’ll say is protein-rich foods include lean pork and beef, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, tofu, and low-fat dairy products. Bring in lean sources of protein in your marathon training diet.

Best sources of protein in your diet

* Lean pork and beef
* Poultry
* Fish
* Eggs
* Low-fat dairy products
* Broccoli
* Beans
* Corn

Fiber
Fiber helps the body stay healthy and possibly will prevent heart disease. Getting an adequate amount of fiber may be easier than you believe.

Soluble fiber, which is found in oats, barley, beans, apples, oranges and other fruits and vegetables, possibly will help prevent heart disease by lowering LDL, or “bad” cholesterol levels. Set a goal to eat 20 to 35 grams of fiber every day. The best way to do this is to eat a varied list of whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, fruits and vegetables.

Fiber also keeps the bowels “regular”. This is important to avoiding pain on your long training runs.

Best sources of fiber in your diet
Include more fiber in your eating plan by adding vegetables to stews and casseroles. Add oats to meatloaf, breads and cookies. Fruit on cereal, as a snack and in salads are other alternatives.

Whey protein weight loss is the biggest new fad to hit the health market.

But is it really a fad if it’s hands down head and shoulders above the rest? I don’t think so.

WARNING: There has always been fad diets that come and go but are not necessarily healthy for you over the long haul.

But let’s put one thing to rest right now.

Science and nutrition is the greatest it’s ever been because of breakthrough testing. That being said it’s time to genuinely celebrate because we have a new king of the mountain and that’s whey protein weight loss.

First off, the important thing to realize is that there are different categories of whey protein weight loss such as isolates and the newly improved superfood type of whey protein known as the 100% raw grass fed, cold processed whey concentrates.

The important thing to realize here without getting into too much scientific factual evidence, and for the sake of not going off on a completely different tangent: concentrates are a far superior addition to any whey protein weight loss program.

So knowing this, what are the most important concepts to understand?

1) Obviously, use whey! I can’t stress that enough but the seemingly never ending list of benefits for this product are unparalleled to say the least:

Whey Weight Loss Benefits:

First off it’s got the number one antioxidant in the world – Glutathione

It boosts energy and physical endurance, which is great for athletes or those who can’t muster up that extra energy to go work-out.

It promotes muscle strength, growth and recovery

It detoxifies heavy metal toxins and other harmful bodily chemicals.

But wait let’s get more specific here…

By using the whey protein concentrate as opposed to the isolate as we had talked about before here’s some added benefits you’ll get immediately:

65% Protein by weight.

No Artificial sweeteners, and no sugar added.

Low Glycemic, low carb, and Diabetic Friendly.

No Pesticides, Hormones, Chemicals, Fructose, or Sugar added.

Made only from grass fed cows for maximum nutrition (this is a huge difference and is key).

2) Calorie Intake

Ok this is always a little bit of a dicey fine line and I’m sure there will be contrarians out there but pump the breaks a second.

We need to kick off your metabolism a bit and that starts with smaller meals. I know some people swear they lose weight by eating 2 large meals a day rather than 3-4. So much for that “most important meal of the day.”

But let’s remember we’re here for whey protein weight loss and using this supplement you’ll get excellent calories when you put a scoop into a fruit smoothie. That’s loaded with natural sugars, fiber, vitamins, nutrients, and amino acids – everything your body needs.

Personally I think the best time to use whey is at least once a day. I tend to use it about mid afternoon and the whey protein weight loss shake I choose differs depending on pre or post workout.

This brings me to my next point.

3) Work-Out!

I really can’t stress this enough but your body needs some exercise. You really do needs to speed up that heartrate.

The great thing about whey protein is that it will help build lean muscle mass. Don’t worry, not the type of muscle building that will make you bulky but the type that just firms up your body and actually burns fat for you. It is scientifically proven that a person with a higher lean muscle mass will burn more fat…even while they are sleeping.

And I’m sure that some of you are thinking: I don’t have time for an hour long work out, or I hate the gym, or I’m too lazy.

I have one word for you: Stop!

Let’s be positive…you don’t need an hour long workout, just get some fresh air and walk around a lake. The important thing is to do something!

4) Don’t drink that!

Ok, so I gained weight when I stopped playing some soccer but I lost 20 lbs in 2 months by not drinking soda. Plus, I lost an additional 10 by starting on my whey routine where I just supplemented my diet with one smoothie a day. Note: This goes for diet soda too! Sorry ladies.

Switch to water and lots of it.

Water regulates body temperature, transports nutrients and oxygen, dissolves vitamins and your new whey protein weight loss powder, detoxifies kidneys and liver, and helps suppress your appetite.

So imagine the amazing feeling you’d have 2 weeks from now after using a whey protein weight loss program and you have more energy to do the things you love. The better you’d feel about losing those extra unwanted pounds.

And there are many many more benefits that your body gets from whey protein.

Whey Protein — How Bad Are Bad Carbs? Worse Than No Exercise, New Findings On What Makes You Thin

Here’s the skinny on getting skinny. What you eat is more important than how much you exercise. New findings support this and that’s why it’s so important to eat well — and stay away from processed carbs like white flour and sugar! This means eating healthy meals and snacks that contain lean protein like organic whey, healthy fats like nuts and seeds, and unprocessed carbs like fresh vegetables or green drink superfood. It’s true — if you sustain your body on bad carbs and fatty meats, you’re going to pack on the fat. Whereas if you get sufficient protein and unprocessed carbs and fats, you can stay thin even without being physically active.

Let’s look at the findings so you can see for yourself…

Researchers from John Hopkins, Howard University, University of Wisconsin, University of Ibadan and Loyola University compared the eating and exercise habits of two groups of women. The first group were rural Nigerians averaging 127 pounds, and the second group were African Americans from Chicago averaging 184 pounds. Here’s what they found:

1.The lean Nigerians were NOT more physically active than the overweight women from Chicago. This was surprising because most of us think that thin people are more active than fat people. Not necessarily true.

2. The thin Nigerians had diets high in good, unprocessed carbs and fiber and low in fats and protein from animals, while the obese Americans had diets that were 40-45% higher in fats and processed “bad” carbs and other foods.

What does this tell us? Even if you don’t exercise, you can be slender as long as you eat unprocessed, healthy foods. But eat bad carbs and fatty protein and you’ll gain weight.

How to keep the weight off no matter how active you are? Do This No-Bad-Carb All Natural Whey Protein Shake 3-Step Plan!

STEP 1 — Stop eating bad carbs altogether. And stop eating other processed items as well! Processed foods make you bloat with extra water weight and give you zero nutrition. Without nutrition, your body thinks it’s starving and you tend to eat more and store more fat.

STEP 2 — Start eating the big three at every meal — that’s unprocessed carbs, lean protein and healthy fats. And eat the right amounts: a fist-size of lean protein, a fist-size of unprocessed carbs and a thumb-size of healthy fats. Your body needs them to:

•	Turn the carbs into glucose and create that steady supply of fuel
•	Provide fiber to curb hunger and stabilize blood sugar
•	Burn body fat — if you don’t get a steady supply of glucose your body thinks it’s in emergency “starvation” mode and stores everything as fat instead of using it as energy

STEP 3 — Have an all natural whey protein shake every morning and keep the main ingredients stocked. Natural whey protein powder shakes contain the perfect nutrition ratio mentioned in step 2. And they’re easy to make! Plus you can have a natural whey protein shake as a meal replacement or a snack.

To make the best shakes, to desired smoothness: liquid (water, non-fat milk, plain soy milk or plain almond milk); natural whey isolate protein powder; good fat (omega oil, flax; green powder; fresh fruit; ice; optional essences and spices (vanilla, mint, cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger).

Ready to give up the bad carbs so you can have a thin body whether you exercise or not? Start by shopping for your natural whey protein breakfast ingredients…
